Services
I work with people of all ages and all walks of life. They bring a wide variety of issues, such as:
- DEPRESSION & ANXIETY- are feelings which may be rooted in the past, present or future. They can also be the consequences of a troubled childhood, the effects of physical, emotional or sexual abuse, spousal abuse and/ or physical assault.
- GRIEF - is a complex process which is often eased when we are able to share it with someone who knows how to help. Grief has many causes: life-threatening situations or chronic illness, loss of a loved-one; marital breakdown, separation or divorce; loss of a job or career; loss of our physical capacities and changes in our appearance as we age. Unprocessed grief can hang on for years and prevent us from being able to move on in our lives. Talking things out can help us see where we are stuck.
- LIFESTYLE & SEXUAL ORIENTATION ISSUES - I work with people of all ages or genders who live a LesBiGayT lifestyle and who want a therapist familiar with their community, who embraces their choices in life and reationships. I also help those who are considering or in the process of “coming out” .
- RELATIONSHIP & MARITAL THERAPY - I have completed Advanced Training in Emotion-Focused Relationship Therapy (www.iceeft.ca). This is a well-researched and highly successful approach which is now used by therapists all over the world. I work with all kinds of relationships - Heterosexual, LGBT or Polyamorous.
- TRAUMATIC INCIDENT REDUCTION (www.tir.org) - A dynamic, short-term treatment which can significantly reduce the impact of all types of trauma.
- GIFTED INDIVIDUALS - My own background in the arts has made be particularly suited to work with those who are intellectually gifted and those in the creative industries such as dance, theatre, film, music, art or literature.
