Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Marriage and Relationship Therapy

    My Biography

Carolyn Dallman DownesI view myself as a fellow traveller on the road of life, rather than someone who has all the answers.  I have gone through years of rigorous training, not only to learn the skills and techniques necessary to help people heal, but also to examine my own ethics, face my own inner demons and learn how to use my experience to bring compassion and understanding to those who are trying to find their own path in life.

My goal is not only to help you get through whatever crisis brings you to therapy, but to transform your perspective so you feel better than you have ever felt before–with greater understanding of yourself, your goals, your gifts and your own personal journey.

When we are troubled and confused, it helps to have a guide who has weathered a few storms herself, and who has the skills to help you find your own way forward.  Just as importantly, you need to get a sense of whether or not you and I are going to “fit” with each other–if my style and personality is going to be compatible with your own.

To help you figure out if I am the right Registered Psychotherapist for you, I have prepared this website. It answers many of the questions people ask when they call for the first time. Briefly, here are some of the issues I deal with most often:

    • Depression, Anxiety and Grief
    • Marriage and Relationship Issues
    • Childhood and Adult Sexual Abuse
    • Post-Traumatic-Stress (PTSD)
    • Alternative Lifestyles (LGBTQ) and Polyamory
    • Support for Creative and Intellectually Gifted People
